Build Time:
Once you have decided on the home plan that will best suit the needs of you and your family, construction on your new home will begin. Generally, the building process will take about five to seven months to complete depending on the product type, and the willingness of homebuyers to adhere to the meeting times where their input and ideas are needed.
Design Selections:
With such a variety of designs and styles to choose from, we have a dedicated selections specialist to walk you through the selections process. Depending on the level of completion of the home you have chosen, you will make between one and three appointments with the selections specialist to choose the interior elements of your home. You will be introduced to numerous choices available to make your home even more personalized to your taste and style. Listening to your likes, dislikes and goals for your home, you will be walked through the selections that are applicable to the stage your home is in, and be kept on a reasonable schedule to insure your builder knows your choices in time to incorporate them into your new home.
Site Work of Lot:
Before construction can begin on your new home, the lot you have chosen must undergo necessary adjustments. We will make room for your home and take measures to control erosion.
Foundation:
Next, we'll lay the foundation and you'll be able to see your home's "footprint." Concrete footings and/or walls will be laid to create stability and support for your home
Framing Stage:
Pre-Construction meeting: As soon as the home site you have chosen for your new home has been prepared and the foundation has been laid, you will meet with the builder to insure that your expectations and ideas are clearly understood. The meeting comes just prior to framing the home. That way, we can address any last minute decisions before walls go up.
"Framing Walk":
The frame of your house is now up, and it is becoming easier to visualize what your dream home will look like. At this time, you will participate in a framing walk with your builder. You may also tell the builder where you would like electrical outlets and cable outlets in certain rooms.
House Wrap:
At this point, you'll start seeing green. That's because your house will be wrapped in it! Monte Hewett Homes uses an innovative house wrap to act as a moisture barrier and to control air infiltration.
Mechanical Installation:
Next, all in-wall units will be installed. This includes HVAC, low voltage wiring and other mechanical components.
Insulation and Sheetrock:
As we're putting up walls that will define the rooms in your home, we're filling them with more protection and energy efficiency than you expect. The exterior walls are filled with blown insulation, giving them an R-15 insulation value. Treated with Borates, the insulation also repels bugs and is fire retardant.
Trim Packages, Painting, etc.
The Selections manager sets a schedule to insure that you've had opportunities to choose items before they are needed on-site for installation. With your scheduled appointments are complete, your home's trim, painting and final mechanical components will be installed. Already knowing what will be going in the home is not only exciting for you, but is also a great way to keep the building team on the right timeline to get your new home ready for your move-in day.
Quality Control Program:
At Monte Hewett Homes, we not only build exceptional homes, but we strive to build exceptional relationships as well. That is why our Quality Control and Customer Service staff work hand in hand. In addition to hiring experienced professionals who build quality homes, we are among the first in the industry to incorporate a pre-inspection to insure sound workmanship and to provide a time-defined construction schedule.
New Home Orientation:
Upon the completion of your new home, representatives from Monte Hewett Homes will walk through your home to educate you on its unique construction and to answer your questions about appliances, water cut-offs and good maintenance practices. This will also be the time for a thorough inspection of the home to insure every detail has been covered.
Final Walk Through:
As you are heading to the lawyer's office to finalize the closing on your new luxury home, Monte Hewett Homes staff will detail your home and make sure that everything is properly fixed, cleaned and ready for move-in.
14-Day Follow Up: Two weeks after you move in, a representative from Monte Hewett Homes will call to make sure you are ready for the 30-day walk through. Working around your schedule, we will set up a time that works well for you and the builder to do a walk-through of your new home.
30- Day Follow Up: After living in your home for 30-days, the builder will do another walk through of your home and address any problems that you may have. At this time, you are encouraged to ask any questions and discuss your concerns about your home with the builder.
